Introduction: On rare occasions, the Halo may become unresponsive during an upgrade process. The most common reason leading to this is Halo losing power during the upgrading process. You may follow the steps below to enter firmware recovery mode and perform a firmware upgrade.

Things to prepare:

The Halo unit which needs firmware recovery

One Ethernet cable

One PC with an Ethernet port

A Pin to press the reset button

1. Download the latest firmware of your Halo unit from the official website. Here we take the H80X as an example; you may get the latest firmware from here: Download for Halo H80X

2. Do not power on the Halo unit; connect the PC directly to one of the ethernet ports of the Halo unit.

3. Set a static IP address of 192.168.0.2/255.255.255.0 on the PC’s ethernet adapter.

(no need for setting gateway or DNS.)

4. Use the pin to press and hold the reset button, and plug the power cable into the Halo unit. After that, you will be able to see the LED flashing white.

5. On the PC, open a browser and access http://192.168.0.1; you will be able to see the firmware recovery page; you may upload the firmware and start the firmware upgrade; the webpage will tell you once the upgrade is finished.

6. Some models require a manual reboot (disconnect and reconnect the power cable)
